BILINGUAL (Spanish) Child Peer Support Specialist (Terrebonne, Lafourche and River Parishes)
Join our team at Behavioral Services of Louisiana, LLC, as a Bilingual Child Peer Support Specialist. We are a dedicated Family Support Organization, committed to providing quality mental health services in the Terrebonne, Lafourche, and River Parishes. As a bilingual Child Peer Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in assisting our clients in their recovery journey, helping them develop social and interpersonal skills, and improving their overall functioning in their social environments. You will report to the Director of Operations and be supervised by the Support Specialist Supervisor.Responsibilities Provide individual Peer Support Specialist services in the community. Assist clients in developing treatment goals within the first 30 days of service. Help clients restore, rehabilitate, and develop social and interpersonal skills. Identify, enhance, and establish support networks, community awareness, and coping strategies. Assist in improving clients' self-management of psychiatric or emotional symptoms. Help implement Peer Support Plan on an ongoing basis. Participate in collaborative meetings with Behavioral Health Services staff and other agencies. Communicate clients' status regularly, including changes in mood or functioning, medical issues, and all crisis and health and safety issues. Produce effective, clinical documentation of every contact with recipient. Attend all office trainings and regular clinical supervision sessions. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. Must speak both English and Spanish proficiently. Self-identify as a current or former consumer of mental health services. Demonstrate a minimum of 6 months in self-directed recovery within the last year. Self-identify as a first-degree family member.
