Job Description:
Firefighter Recruit (Competitive Class) Bayou Cane Fire Protection District is currently accepting applications for the position of firefighter recruit.

As a firefighter recruit, you will receive comprehensive training provided by our department to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in this crucial role.
Responsibilities:
Responding to emergency calls and providing assistance in firefighting, rescue, and medical operations.
Operating firefighting equipment and vehicles to combat fires and protect life and property.
Participating in regular training sessions and drills to maintain proficiency in firefighting techniques and procedures.
Conducting inspections and performing routine maintenance on firefighting equipment and apparatus.
Assisting in community outreach programs and educational initiatives to promote fire safety and prevention.

The work schedule for this position follows a 24-hour shift followed by 48 hours off.

1 and 1/2 mile run in 16 minutes or less.
