Houma, LA Houma, LA Full-time Full-time $16 an hour $16 an hour 1 day ago 1 day ago 1 day ago Gulf Coast Social Services is currently seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant for South Central Louisiana Human Services Authority (SCLHSA) for the Terrebonne Administrative office.
The Accounting Assistant will assist the Procurement Manager in procuring the appropriate goods and services.
The Accounting Assistant will follow-up and resolve issues for deliveries by contacting vendors.
This position will tracks receipts, makes purchases of goods, and audits invoices.
This position will also reconcile monthly transactions, maintain vendor files, and serve as Petty Cash custodian.
The position requires a High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of one (1) year clerical or accounting experience working in human services or a related field.
The position requires a reasonable combination in the following skills:
good written/verbal interpersonal skills, the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships, documentation, and the ability to represent the Agency in a highly professional manner, with the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
Experience with MS Office, including Word, and Excel is also desired.
Applicant must pass criminal record background check, drug screening, and LA motor vehicle record check, have a valid Louisiana driver's license, current auto liability insurance, and have access to a reliable vehicle in safe operating condition with current inspection stickers.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
